Kensington Valley Hockey Association Officials Information

The Kensington Valley Hockey Association is continuing to sponsor ice time for referee sessions for the upcoming 2007 - 2008 season.
THESE ARE NOT USA REGISTRATION CLASSES. They are training sessions for new and returning officials interested in working
within the Kensington Valley Hockey Association program as officials in addition to offering
additional officiating opportunities.
If you are interested, continued training and evaluations will be held at the dates and times listed below for Sept./Oct. Emphasis will
be placed on those individuals dedicated and interested in creating a professional, quality group of officials.
Please be prompt as we will use the time before the ice sessions to go over issues,
situations and general dialogue of the season to date. PLEASE wear appropriate dress!
Look the part - You are representing the officials group - ie. if you wear a 'ball cap' have it
on straight, be on time, etc.
Full gear if you have it - Skates, helmet and whistle required at the minimum for new officials or interested officials .

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Information needed to find and attend a USA HOCKEY Seminar...

1.Any Seminar in MI. will satisfy your Seminar credit as long as full Seminar is attended. | |

2.$10.00 Seminar Fee | |

3.For returning officials full gear for ice sessions, for new officials Helmet is mandatory. | |

4.Returning officials have USA registration number at sign in desk, apply for proper Level. | |
|
5.Paper,pencils skates, whistle, helmets are needed for Seminar. | |
|
6.Contact person will verify location. |
As a new referee, it will be a 2-3 week turnaround process once a seminar has been attended, you are sent the test, it
is returned and your credentials sent.
Once you have attended a USA registration seminar and obtained your credentials, please email us your USA number to be placed
in your file. This will be our verification that you are a currently USA registered official and it will confirm that you are eligible
for game assignments.
We hope this is helpful - we will put your email address into the address book and will be emailing periodically update
information.
MENTOR PROGRAMS:
We will be running a mentor program for new and young officials requiring assistance. These will consist of Mini-Mite, Mite and Squirt House program games - higher levels on an individual basis.. The mentor will be a qualified officials of proper experience to "shadow" and work with the on ice official in the mechanics, positioning, judgment and officiating of the game. The mentor will not be in uniform nor bring his/her whistle on to the ice.
The mentor will be compensated from a special fund at the end of each working month. The game fee(s) will equal that of the on ice officials for the level played.
